#MidWeekTease With The Vampire's Breakfast

Happy whateverdayitis and welcome to this week's #MidWeekTease.

And a tease from Kera Faire's book, The Vampire's Breakfast, out tomorrow. (Sorry, no cover, so it'll be a reveal and a publication all at once I think)

blurb~

The vampires are due to have breakfast.
But who are the vampires and who are the food?
Rafe and Dorissa mesh. They love what they do to—and for—each other.
Now they have one hot, sex-fuelled night to find out if their connection is strong enough to cope with anything they encounter.
As dawn breaks, and they discover what happens next, their lives will be changed forever.
But will it be in the way either of them think?

and your #MidWeekTease

When the sky is dark and the time is right,
Vampires emerge to dance in the night.
To eat, play, and love, and think that they might…
Take one extra bite before it gets light.

“What do you mean, it’s vampires at dawn?” Dorissa stroked the pale lemon silk of her ball gown into place, noted how the neckline skimmed the swell of her breasts at just the right place to tease and tantalize and looked up at the elegant man who stood next to her. Did he really know what he was saying?
His domino mask dangled from his fingertips, and the strings danced in the slight breeze that also ruffled the wayward curls of her hair. His hair of course remained exactly as he intended. How did he manage that? Dorissa tucked one lock behind her ear. No one could ever call her neat and tidy.
 Thank goodness.
He grinned and she thought the sobriquet, ‘saturnine devil’ could have been coined for him.
“You heard me. Exactly.” As per usual, his comments were brief in the extreme. Sometimes it irked her more than others. This was one of those times.
Damn him. Just for once can’t he expand on his replies? Tell me what he really means?
“I thought it was a mere masked ball?” Did she manage to keep the petulance out of her tone? It was hard to say, but she rather thought she’d succeeded. This time. Until he essayed his devilish grin—the one that could undo all her good intentions if she were not careful—twirled the mask until she went dizzy looking at it, bent, and kissed her nape. As ever his kisses made her scalp tighten. The graze of his teeth over her soft skin made her inner muscles contract and her juices gather. Her nipples hardened to the point of pain and it was all she could do not to beg him to take them into his mouth. To suckle, nip and tease and release some of the pleasure-pain there. The stings and tingles increased until she moaned and swayed toward him. How she made herself not stretch out and hold on she had no idea.
“Hell, isn’t it?’ He flicked his nail over her nipple. “I can show you something much better. Soon.”
Soon. She licked her lips and glanced at his groin. His staff was outlined in glorious detail under his knee breeches.
“Not just that,” he said, as he trailed his fingers over the tiny hollow at the base of her chin. His thumb and forefinger tightened so briefly on her skin she wondered if she’d imagined it. “A masked ball is paltry compared to this. It’s said at dawn we unmask and see who are vampires and who are mere mortals. The hint of the sun, the kiss of the dew …. Allegedly.” He inclined his head. “And who am I to argue? Then we congratulate each other on our disguises, admire our audacity and go to have breakfast.”
She snorted. Some ladies would do anything to get the cream of the ton to attend their extravaganzas. Little did they know. “Choose your feast and bite?” she asked him sweetly. “Eat it up, one nibble at a time?”
He smiled and those glints of amber—beware—showed in the depths of his eyes. They pinned her in place like a butterfly caught for the lepidopterist to feast their eyes on, never to escape and fly again. His for the taking. Or was she? Her to know and him to discover. Later.
“Something like that. Are you not a believer, Dorissa?” The tiny nip he gave her soft skin sent delicious tingles down her spine and into her cunt. Oh so much emotion, all from a tiny touch. But what a touch. The hairs on her arms stood on end, and miniscule droplets of perspiration gathered on them. “Do you disagree?’ he asked softly. “Think it can’t happen?”
She squeezed her thighs together to stop the steady trickle of her juices from sliding down her legs. Rafe was all too likely to lift her skirts, see the evidence of how he made her feel, and taste it. Before flipping her over and taking her there and then. Sadly, with this damned ball looming, they didn’t have time.
“Shall I be a vampire, Dorissa?” Rafe continued in that same soft velvet and steel voice. “Bite you, and drink your blood?” The gleam in his eyes made her ache to answer. But what would he think if she did? “Suck you dry?”
Wait, just wait.
“Then,” Rafe continued, “mark you as mine. For me and no one else. Before I turn you and make you thus forever in that other world? Would you like that, Dorissa? To belong, to be mine, and only that?” His voice deepened and became husky with something she couldn’t define. “For no other person or entity to feast their eyes,” he paused and licked his lips, “or anything else, on you.” He stroked his rough tongue over her sweat-slicked skin, and she mewled. “I want more, Dorissa. I want it all.”

The Vampire's Breakfast by Kera Faire will be out on 16th June from Evernight Publishing and available on their site, Amazon, Are and Bookstrand.
